Photo Essay

The sky is a beautiful place, and there are many pictures, but this one picture stood out to me from all of the other pictures of the sky in this photo essay

This picture stood out to me because it shows the clouds in a non-real way.  When you think of the sky, usually you think of it as being blue, having perfect white clouds, and having a little yellow sun in the middle.  However, this shows a different point of view.  This picture was taken in Rustenburg, South Africa and it is of the sky during the sunset.  The sun really shows the color of the clouds with just different shades of a color.  At first glance, something someone might miss is the shadow of trees in the bottom right corner.  I definitely missed it at first.  I think the shadow also looks very, very cool.  I think this picture tells a animated story of the world.  It tells me that the sun can look different everywhere in the world.  I mainly think that this can tell different stories to different people because "beatuty is in the eye of the beholder."
One question I have about this picture is: Was this picture changed in any way for the photo essay or is this how the picture came out when they took it? 
Another question I have is: What camera was used to take this picture?
The last question I have about this picture is: What is the stuff in the top left corner? Are they just more of the clouds or is something else there?

I really like this picture and it really stood out to me in the pictures of the sky.
